Seeking A Superior Sorcerer Build in ESOTU

Although I’ve been playing in ESOTO since beta, I would hardly consider myself anything but an amateur when it comes to builds. My main character is a Sorcerer, a Breton in the Daggerfall Covenant. With the release of the Imperial City I have managed to get her to Veteran Rank 16. I’m finding though for the Veteran versions of the new dungeons, and certainly for PvP in general, she is very “Squishy” so to speak. If you are like me and in search of good builds then you are certainly in luck as there is a plethora of information on the subject on web.

One such place to find good information is Deltia’s Gaming; as I search for a better build for my Sorcerer, the first I’m choosing to try is the following from Deltia’s site:

Toxic Tornado Stamina Sorcerer/Ricochet Sorcerer Build, Imperial City

The outline of the build is on Deltia’s site here; and a selection of other Sorcerer Builds can be found here on the same site. You should check the original outline if you are looking for an in-depth break-down of selection choices as I will take a more high level review here.

The Weapons and Armor for the build are as follows:

Slot Weight Traits Set Glyp
Head Medium Infused Nerien’eth’s Stamina
Shoulder Medium Divines Nerien’eth’s Stamina
Chest Medium Infused Sheer Venom Stamina
Leg Medium Infused Sheer Venom Stamina
Glove Medium Divines Sheer Venom Stamina
Boot Medium Divines Sheer Venom Stamina
Belt Medium Divines Sheer Venom Stamina
Weapon One Mace Sharpened None Weapon Power
Weapon Two Mace Sharpened Night’s Silence Weapon Power
Secondary Weapon Maul Sharpened Night’s Silence Poisen
Necklace Robust Agility Weapon Power
Ring Robust Agility Weapon Power
Ring Robust Agility Weapon Power

Nerien’eth’s set which is a unique Veteran dungeon boss drop (final boss), and Undaunted Veteran Gold key reward, and the Sheer Venom set, which is new with Imperial City are not in my inventory; I’ll be working toward them in the interim. Fortunately for the Sheer Venom the recommendation is the craftable Hunding’s Rage set. My current build is as follows, set for VR14 for items I hope to replace:

Slot Weight Traits Set Glyp
Head Medium Infused Urata’s Mask of Mockery Stamina

Given the use of new gear from the Imperial City expansion and the Nerien’eth’s set I felt a Daedric theme was in order. I don’t have access to the two piece medium Nerien’eth’s set or the Shadow Walker set at the moment; fortunately Hunding’s Rage is proposed as an alternative. Both Hunding’s Rage and Night’s Silence are craftable sets so this is easy to cover. Since I had Urata’s Mask of Mockery laying around (which is a Medium Helmet using the Daedric motif) it was a natural and fun selection. This only leaves the Accessories; the Shadow Walker set in my opinion would be a good alternative. Since it is clear that my initial build will need to be thrust into the grind to improve the Skill ratings, I’m not looking to spend too much for mix-and-matching; better to save that money for the real thing. So for Accessories I’ve simply purchased some basics from my Guild store. All of the enchantments I can make myself.

Notes

The build makes reference to changes that will benefit a Vampire as my character is one; however it also notes that this may be worth avoiding for the less advanced and I’m inclined to remove this to ease the process (but I’ll wait and see).
Here she is:

I’m looking forward to playing this new build in the Imperial City and seeing how effective she can be; I know I still have a ways to go as far as matching the original specs but that’s parts of the fun:)
